Artificial Intelligence Sessions

11–15 October 2026 · Global Tipping Points Conference

Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how we think, work, relate, decide and organise society. At the same time, the world is crossing ecological, social, and economic tipping points. These dynamics increasingly intersect, creating a Hybrid Tipping Zone in which choices made today may shape human agency, institutional priorities and planetary conditions for decades to come.

    Workshop

    AI Workshop

    • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
    • Graduate Center, Rooftop Terrasse, Sunway University

Curating a Hybrid Future: Pro-People, Pro-Planet, Pro-Potential The ambition is to design tools to harness ProSocial AI to serve people and planet - or, to design, develop and deploy technology to advance human and planetary flourishing. The map will connect individual choices, technological development, institutional choices, economic incentives, governance, social cohesion and planetary boundaries to make visible how today’s decisions are shaping tomorrow’s hybrid conditions. Its guiding proposition is simple: AI must help create a future that is pro-people, pro-planet and pro-potential by strengthening human agency and relationships, operating within ecological limits, and preserving the conditions for present and future generations to develop their inherent capabilities. Two-hour pre-GTP session on 11 October 15:00 - 17:00, convening like-hearted and unlike-minded thinkers and practitioners interested in meaning-making in the hybrid future, surfacing tensions, assumptions and possible leverage points.

    Breakfast Meeting Amid AI

    • 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM
    • Function Room 2, Level 1, Sunway University

This one-hour breakfast conversation, held on Day 2 and Day 4 of the Global Tipping Points Conference 2026, brings together unlike-minded, like-hearted thinkers and practitioners who may not usually share the same table. Rather than treating AI as a technical topic, the sessions ask a broader question: what kind of hybrid future do we want to create, and what will it take to make it pro-people, pro-planet and pro-potential? Grounded in the logic of ProSocial AI—AI tailored, trained, tested and targeted to bring out the best in people and planet—the breakfasts will connect technological change with human agency, meaning, prosperity and planetary health. Participants will explore tensions, possibilities and practical leverage points, contributing insights toward an evolving visual roadmap for a hybrid future. The two sessions form part of a wider conversation that begins around GTP 2026 and is intended to grow through subsequent gatherings, including the UN Science Summit, InTent Davos, the Planetary Health Alliance Conference 2027 and GTP 2027. Come with a perspective, a question, or a productive disagreement. The aim is to see the system differently — and identify where we can shape it together.
